What a great night, 100 people attended, so the function room was "cosy", but everyone had a great time trying to answer the mixture of easy and devious questions from Quizmaster Colin. At half time Christine and her team served a delicious chilli (with hot, mild & vegetarian option) to keep our brains fed ready for the second half. The Draught House Bar kept the liquid refreshments flowing.
As always it was very competitive. Scores were expertly collated and verified by Leslie. Third place went to team "Where's Lozza", 2nd to "Norfolk 'n Chance" and the champions were team "Andy's Hipsters". The wooden spoons were humbly accepted by team "Nutty Woofers Over the Hills" who promptly gave us a rendition on spoon, table and glass of an unrecognisable classic! Prizes were generously supplied by Tatton Brewery, Legh Arms and Knutsford Little Theatre. An amazing £895 was raised on the night for the Junior Courts Fund. Thank you organisers Christine and Colin Banks; Andy Lynes for sound system; Leslie for keeping the "scores on the doors" and Sandi for the kitchen prep. Tonight not only did we celebrate my decade with you, we celebrated you wonderful wonderful Knutfordians. You inspire me as much as I inspire you. You have taken me in as part of your family and to each and everyone of you, I thank you for that.

Quiz Master Mockett set some challenging and fun questions - including a picture and music round for the teams to test their knowledge against. Members of the committee provided a pan or two of chilli and the various recipes appealed to all taste buds, with only a few grains of rice left at the end. On the night the raffle and proceeds amounted to over £850, a good start to raising funds for the new junior surfaces on courts 6 and 7. This is now an annual event, so keep your diaries free for next year, and see if you can beat this year's winners - the aptly titled 'Steve's Worst Nightmare' Thanks to all who attended, all those who helped on the night and made this once again a fantastic evening. Our next social event for members is our Christmas themed Club Night on the 12th December. The fun starts at 7pm - fancy dress is positively encouraged! Special thanks from the committee go to Andy Lynes, Andy Tucker and Steve Mockett, who organised the night. Andy Lynes is our Social Secretary, and is always looking for volunteers to support him with club events. If you are interested in helping, you can find his details here What a great turn out for our Halloween special Adult club night on Tuesday 7th November. Members came down dressed too scare, and to enjoy a range of actives at the Sport Club. The spooktacular ghosts and ghouls enjoyed good games with forfeits thrown in regularly by Mark - some improving the quality of tennis, some not! The evening was well attended, so when the courts were full, the competition was carried on enthusiastically on the table tennis table. After the scores were in, Mark declared Sarah Meredith the overall winner and refreshment of hot dogs and cake were on offer. Congratulations to Sarah Meredith, and to Helen Sawyer - who was judged as the best fancy dressed. Thank you to all that came to support the event. We have a full schedule of events planned this summer - the is something for everyone!
