Then as if Christmas hadn't been festive enough already, the ladies had another celebration of their own on the 18th December, when about 30 ladies turned up to play (in thick fog) or just socialise. There was plenty of Prosecco and food courtesy of Waitrose and Nicky and Louise's online ordering skills. It was great to see some team ladies plus daytime and recent new members mixing in. A very big thank you to Nicky Arnell who has organised our Monday sessions brilliantly all year.
A last chance to wish all our members a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year. See you in 2018

Our Christmas Club Night get together. The snow halted play on our tennis courts but the competitiveness continued indoors on the table tennis tables together with the very skilful "Play your cards right" or Higher or Lower. There was a fiercely fought table tennis battle in the final between Bill Jackson and Mahmood Elamin against Dave Buffers and.....our own coach Mark Airey!!
Surprisingly Mark allowed Bill and Mahmood (possibly also due to some Elfin' skulduggery) to win through to the final knockout stage of “Higher or Lower” which we're pleased to announce after a fun evening at KTC - Mahmood Elamin is our KTC Christmas 2017 winner .... Well done Mahmood (sorry but no spare silver cups this time). Thanks again to Lou and Andy for the excellent nibbles (less nibbles but giant hot dogs with fried onions). It's our annual Christmas Club night on the 12th December 2017. The fun starts at 7pm, with tennis and games - and should the weather not be favourable, there will be indoor activities. All members are welcome to come and have a glass of cheer to toast the festive season.
Fancy dress is positively encouraged - here's a video from 2009 to get you in the Christmas spirit...anyone you recognise? ![]() Once again our Annual Quiz Night was a great success and the hall at the club was buzzing with over 75 enthusiastic quizzers. Quiz Master Mockett set some challenging and fun questions - including a picture and music round for the teams to test their knowledge against. Members of the committee provided a pan or two of chilli and the various recipes appealed to all taste buds, with only a few grains of rice left at the end. On the night the raffle and proceeds amounted to over £850, a good start to raising funds for the new junior surfaces on courts 6 and 7. This is now an annual event, so keep your diaries free for next year, and see if you can beat this year's winners - the aptly titled 'Steve's Worst Nightmare' Thanks to all who attended, all those who helped on the night and made this once again a fantastic evening. Our next social event for members is our Christmas themed Club Night on the 12th December. The fun starts at 7pm - fancy dress is positively encouraged! Special thanks from the committee go to Andy Lynes, Andy Tucker and Steve Mockett, who organised the night. Andy Lynes is our Social Secretary, and is always looking for volunteers to support him with club events. If you are interested in helping, you can find his details here
